Company History

Al Omran Group was born in 1975 in Al Basra, Iraq. After that, the business expanded greatly in the 80’s of the last century, opening branches in Baghdad and the rest of the Iraqi provinces.

The early 90’s were the turning point for us. We founded and owned shares in many Iraqi companies such as Al Waseela, Waseelat Al Omran, and Al Ihata. Al Omran was one of the biggest F&B companies in Iraq at that time. We continued to grow as we opened more branches, storehouses, and offices.

While Iraq was undergoing a fundamental political change in 2003, we decided to enter the construction industry and take part in rebuilding Iraq after a ravaging war. That is when we founded Durat Al Omran for General Contracting.
